Accounting Clerk
POSITION TYPE: FULL TIME (In-Person)
TITLE: ACCOUNTING CLERK
REPORTS TO: ACCOUNTING MANAGER
SUMMARY:
Lawson Fenning is seeking a full-time Accounting Clerk to support the Accounting Department. The successful candidate will be detail oriented with a high level of accuracy. We will train the candidate with all the online databases we use including Quickbooks, Cin7 (inventory management), and Square. Any knowledge of these databases is a plus. The candidate should be able to execute all roles and responsibilities with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism and will report to the Accounting Manager for assignments.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Review client invoices for errors and continuity, enter payments into the database
- Create purchase orders using data obtained from client invoices
- Create, review, or edit accounts payable, credit card and expense transactions and upload backup
- Match fabric receipts with client invoices
- Match shipping bills and receipts with client invoices, review product orders and shipping charges
- Manage and record Amazon expenses
- Request source and backup documents from vendors, sales reps and other staff as needed to substantiate all transactions
- Research and resolve discrepancies in billing, shipping, purchasing, etc
- Assist managers with other accounting duties and ad hoc projects
ADDITIONAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform basic office tasks including answering phones, responding to emails, and distributing mail
- Confirm resale certificates on file and confirm sellers permit numbers annually
- Assist managers with other HR duties and ad hoc projects
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Focus and momentum to process a heavy volume of bills with short turnaround
- Experience working with Microsoft Office programs or Google Suite programs
- Knowledge of creating formulas in Excel or Google Sheets
- Reliability and discretion since you will often learn of confidential matters
- Strong communication skills and professionalism with regards to intracompany and intercompany emails
- Critical thinking and diligence are necessary to investigate irregularities
- Highly accurate data entry and double-checking skills
SALARY RANGE: $50,000-$60,000
