MINNA uses traditional craft techniques to produce ethically made goods with a contemporary edge. Employing a cottage industry approach, MINNA partners with master weavers and artisan collectives in Mexico, Guatemala, and Uruguay, which helps ensure craft preservation and job creation.
What began as an exploration in tapestry weaving evolved into the MINNA home textile collection. Designs are informed and inspired by Feminist art, the Bauhaus, traditional craft, and vintage textiles.
With a background in graphic design from SVA, Sara's approach to textile design is strongly influenced by the Bauhaus. A weaver herself, she often begins the design process on the loom. She travels to Guatemala and Mexico several times a year to work closely with her artisan partners. She lives in Upstate New York with her wife, Steph, and their dog, Max.
