Lland is the art and design studio practice of Rachel Shillander.

Rachel’s varied experience in architecture, art fabrication, site-specific art installation, and construction inform her studio practice, where she investigates ideas of the larger built environment through both functional and non-functional sculpture.

Primarily working in architectural surfacing mediums, her work focuses on creating objects, land art, and spatial sculpture that identify themes of humanity: duality, scale, social constructs, imperfection, spirituality, mystery, and our relationship to the natural world and cosmos. Along with her hand sculpted and clad studio pieces, she works with a quarry in Guadalajara, Mexico to fabricate the Volcanic Stone Collection of furniture and housewares.
